What’s New in Tagboard?

Tagboard recently released a few new and exciting features that customers can take advantage of immediately.

Action Keys for Interactive Poll Results and Hashtag Polling Smart Panels

Starting off with some new Tagboard Producer features, customers now have the ability to trigger various animations on both Interactive Poll Results and Hashtag Polling Smart Panels.

Users can trigger actions by either clicking on the related action button or by entering the given action keyboard shortcut. To take advantage of this, in Tagboard Producer, select an Interactive Poll Results or Hashtag Poll within your Playlist.  You can trigger an action by either clicking on the Action button, or by pressing the associated keyboard shortcut.

Random Content Selector

Select a featured post at random from your tagboard.

Have you ever wanted an easy way to select a random featured post from a tagboard?  Now using Tagboard’s Random Content Selector, you can do just that!

When you’re ready to select a random piece of featured content, click on the ‘Actions’ button located on the right side of your tagboard. You will then see a dropdown menu where you can choose ‘select contest winner’.

Steps to select a contest winner using Tagboard

After clicking ‘select contest winner’ a box will pop up that gives you two options: you can ‘select new winner’ or ‘view previous winners’. This is likely your first time using the random content selector, so let’s go with ‘select new winner’.

Selecting a contest winner with Tagboard

Clicking ‘select new winner’ will randomly select one of the featured posts in your tagboard. You will be able to see what post was selected, and it will automatically be placed in a new tagboard so you can easily find it. Because the winner goes into a new tagboard, we will ask you to name the tagboard and then click save.

Contest Tagboard generated after selecting winning post
Note: This is only pulling from your featured tab, it is not checking all posts across a content feed, so only posts you have featured are eligible to be selected.

At this point you can return to your account dashboard and you’ll see the newly created tagboard that’s housing the winning post.

Another way you can get to that tagboard is by clicking the actions button within the tagboard, just like we did at the start. Then choose ‘select contest winner’ from the dropdown menu. This time instead of clicking on ‘select new winner’, let’s click on ‘view previous winners’. Doing that will show you a list of your previous contest winners. It will show you the date it was created, who created it, and allow you to enter that tagboard, edit the title, or delete it.

Access previous contest winners in tagboard list

A contest Tagboard will show up as a normal tagboard on your account and in Tagboard Producer, allowing you to visualize the winner in a Display Theme on any connect screen.

Note: Tagboard does not host any policies or coverage around contests and sweepstakes. For any legal coverage around those activations we recommend a third party vendor. Tagboard is strictly the software that gives you the ability to select the random piece of content.

To get started, make sure the feature has been enabled on your account. If you follow the steps below and don’t see the option on your account, please reach out to success@tagboard.com.

Just a few Ideas of how to take advantage of this:

“Fan of the Game” or “Viewer of the Night” Spotlight

Put your fans or viewers in the spotlight by featuring photos throughout the night and randomly awarding one winner with a moment of fame live on screen. This type of segment is also a great opportunity to incorporate corporate partners just as the Vegas Golden Knights do on this Medieval Maniac of the Knight feature within the arena.

Online Social Sweepstakes

Bring the contest online by promoting a social sweepstakes and embedding all of the eligible entries within your website or mobile app. From there, simply use the Random Content Selector to choose a winner, and coordinate with them to send a prize.

In the case of Oklahoma State, the contest prompted photos of adorable puppies using #BraumsBestFriendOSU, and the winner received a year-long supply of ice cream. A pretty doggone sweet deal if you ask us!
